DOROGA is about the émigré experience to the United States with its pitfalls and challenges.
Seeking:
ONE ACTOR to portray the following two roles:
? CHARACTER #1: African American male. 25-35. Tap dances at a cabaret and sings...and tells jokes and is very sarcastic and witty. He is originally from the South side of Chicago but has migrated to New York, and he is in love with a White Jewish girl who is a singer at the Cabaret, where they both work as the Master of Ceremonies. Her family does not accept him though. So tempers flare.
? CHARACTER #2: African American male. 40. Emigrated from Nigeria at the age of seventeen to the US. He is a lightweight boxer who tried to make it big in the US. It's more of a serious role. More dramatic. It tells the tale of intolerance and bigotry and a man who thinks he's up against a racist world, when he himself is his own enemy.
