BREAKDOWN

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS :

Please prepare a short comic monologue. To optimize the best sound and video possible we encourage you to turn off any ambient noise (air conditioner/tv/radio) and please select a well lit area with minimal backlighting for your video. Please also slate your name and height before you begin your audition.

BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS

No understudies will be cast.


[STANLEY JEROME] - Male, Eugene’s older brother, nearly 19 yrs old, works in the hat store to help support his family.


[LAURIE MORTON] - Female, (16+ to play a 13). Eugene’s cousin and daughter to Blanche. She has a health “condition.”


[NORA MORTON] - Female, (18+ to play 16). Eugene’s cousin and older sister to Laurie. Wants to be a Broadway performer.


[EUGENE MORRIS JEROME] - Male, 15, the narrator of our story, charming and full of dreams of being a writer. CAST, seeking future replacements only.


[KATE JEROME] - Female, 40’s Mother, strong willed, resilient. CAST, seeking future replacements only.


[BLANCHE MORTON] - Female, late 30’s, Kate’s younger sister who lives with them. CAST, seeking future replacements only.


[JACOB “JACK” JEROME] - Male, late 40’s but life makes him appear older than his years, works two jobs to support the extended family. CAST, seeking future replacements only.
