The annual Planet Ant Colony Fest will bring 24 improv troupes from across the Detroit area to Planet Ant to compete for a spot in the theatre's 2013-2014 LATE NIGHT Series. Starting Tuesday, July 16 and running through Friday, July 19, six improv troupes each night will perform in 20-minute time slots. At the end of the night, the audience will vote for their favorite troupe which will go on to compete in the finale on Saturday, July 20. The finalists will perform for an audience that includes a Planet Ant panel of judges who will select the winner. The winning troupe will receive the "fabulous prize" of a late night slot, directed by Quintin Hicks, in the Planet Ant's 2013-2014 season. Improv troupes not directly affiliated with Planet Ant are eligible to compete. Previous winning troupes are non-eligible.
