Michigan's 2013-14 professional theater season was a tempestuous one, an even more unsettled year than usual for the state's theaters. So perhaps it was appropriate that this year's Wilde Awards were the 13th annual edition.

Emergent Arts presents its second Improv Mixer at The Mix Studio Theater , 8 N. Washington Street in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on April 11 & 12, and April 18 & 19 at 8pm each night, featuring a variety of rising improvisational acting troupes from around Southeast Michigan. Planet Ant Theatre will present a remounted production of the award-winning Cancer! The Musical from November 9 through December 15 at the Boll Theatre located inside the downtown Detroit Boll Family YMCA. Throughout the run, a portion of ticket sales will benefit Gilda's Club Metro Detroit.

As part of Performance Network's continued dedication to support and provide a voice for new and emerging playwrights, the Fireside Festival of New Works will be held August 28 - 31, 2011. This twice-yearly festival of staged readings, which is to be held at Performance Network Theatre, will feature brand new works by four playwrights.
