Celebrate the holiday season with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra's annual Holiday Pops Concert on Friday, December 9th at 8:00pm at Hill Auditorium.

The performance will include a festive mix of classic and pops, orchestra and voice, and is sure to set the mood for the season. Selections include; Tchaikovsky Nutcracker, Come, All Ye Faithful, Medley from Frozen, and Let there be Peace on Earth.

You will be delighted with performances by some of the area's most gifted choruses including Measure for Measure, and the choruses of Pioneer, Huron, and Saline High Schools.

Ann Arbor Pioneer High School and its 13 choral ensembles have twice been designated a National Grammy® Signature School. Directed by Steven Lorenz, the choirs have performed at ACDA conventions, the Michigan Music Conference, and Michigan Youth Arts Festival. This performance will be their sixth appearance with the Ann Arbor Symphony. Ann Arbor's Huron High School choirs have performed both locally and internationally.

Led by Director Richard Ingram, they have been invited to perform for Michigan Music Conferences for MSVMA and ACDA since 1994, were awarded the Gold Trophy at the Verona Choral Competition, participated in seven European tours and attended international choir competitions. This performance will be their sixth collaboration with the Symphony.

The Saline Chamber Choir is one of 6 vocal ensembles in the Saline High School Choral Program. Students in grades 10-12 make up this select group of singers. Under the direction of Sarah Price, the Chamber Choir performs a wide variety of mixed, men's, and women's repertoire at many concert events throughout the year. They have previously performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Detroit Opera House, and will perform at the Chicago Symphony Center in spring 2017. This is their first performance with the Symphony.

Measure for Measure was founded in 1988 by five University of Michigan Men's Glee Club alumni, in an effort to provide an opportunity for men to perform music composed and arranged for male chorus. Their efforts to promote male choral singing have led to performances throughout Michigan, the United States, Canada, and Europe. Measure for Measure has been a featured performer at conventions of the American Choral Directors Association, the Michigan School Vocal Music Association, and the Intercollegiate Men's Choruses, Inc. Measure for Measure is led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Lorenz. This performance marks their 10th collaboration with the Symphony.

The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce that the Holiday Pops concert is co-sponsored by the Bank of Ann Arbor.
