Wausau Academy of Dance

Wausau Academy of Dance is a central Wisconsin dance studio on Harrier Avenue in Wausau, open since 2009 and run with a curated curriculum for students of all levels. Classes cover ballet, tap in Broadway and rhythm styles, jazz, hip hop including popping, locking, breaking and house, modern, lyrical and acro, plus specialized technique classes in leaps and turns, acrobatic arts and strengthening. Intro to Dance introduces 3-to-5-year-olds to simplified tap, ballet and tumbling with an emphasis on motor skills and classroom basics. The school is organized into a primary division of Intro to Dance, Pre-Ballet, Tap/Jazz and Tiny Hip Hop, and leveled classes from Level 1 to Level 6; returning students are assessed each year using skill charts and teacher assessment, with video examples available through the parent portal, and new students with experience take a placement audition. The studio balances performance with technique focus, welcomes visitors to observe classes, runs summer programming and enrols through Jackrabbit.
