Transcendance Studios

TranscenDance Studios (TDS) describes itself as a bold, fresh dance studio offering classes and performance companies, transcending the norm, and serves the Oak Park area of Illinois and neighbouring communities including Forest Park, River Forest, Elmwood Park, Berwyn and Chicago. Weekly classes are grouped into four age bands - ages 2-6, 6-9, 9-18 and 18 and over - so the studio teaches from age 2 through adult. The 9-18 program covers pointe, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, tap, tumbling, ballet and contemporary, streamed through Intermediate 1 to 4, Advanced, Teen and Adult levels, with higher levels entered by assessment and students required to have reached the minimum age by the previous 1 September. Alongside recreational classes TDS runs competitive programs with teams for ages 4-18, private lessons, half-day and full-day summer camps for ages 3-9, one-time Girl Scouts events for troops working on dance badges or fun patches, open studio practice rentals for current students, and a boutique. Fall registration for the 2026-2027 season is open and new students are offered a free trial class.
