About this studio
The School of Theatrical Dance (SOTD) operates at 760 Walker Road in Great Falls, Virginia, and says it has provided a diverse dance curriculum for decades while fostering an inclusive and uplifting environment. Its offering spans ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, acro, Bollywood and dance fitness, with a dedicated pointe program. Rather than placing students strictly by age, SOTD assesses each dancer on gross motor development, emotional maturity, attention span, muscle tone and coordination, then groups similar age and level students together. Training progresses from control of the larger muscle groups toward finer inner musculature and detail as dancers mature.
