About this studio
The Orange School of Performing Arts (OSPA), based at the Firehouse Theatre in Orange, Virginia, is in its 33rd year. Its graded curriculum begins with Dance Movement for ages 3 and 4, building motor skills, rhythm, balance and tumbling, then Pre-Ballet and Tap/Jazz for ages 5 to 7 and Creative Acting and Singing for ages 5 to 8. From age 8 students take ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical/contemporary and modern, with musical theatre from age 9 and pointe for advanced ballet students meeting the artistic director's requirements. The invitation-only Dance Explosion Jazz Companies take students aged 5 to 18; company dancers travel the East Coast performing and competing. Fall and summer schedules are published annually.
