About this studio
Strictly Tango NYC was founded in 2007 by Argentinean dancer, instructor and choreographer Sergio Segura, and works to promote Argentine Tango's heritage and culture in New York City through classes, shows and events. The school says it has taught roughly 45,000 people since opening, using a teaching method built by Segura around simplicity and enjoyment. Classes run at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Avenue near Penn Station, and include ongoing group classes for beginners through advanced, private and tailored lessons, an eight-hour Tango Essentials fast-track course, workshops and seminars, and free tango sessions in NYC parks. Other programs cover couples and date classes, wedding first dances, stage tango, Rainbow (queer) tango, social milongas, a work-study option and tango tours to Buenos Aires. The company also manages tango musicians, singers and dancers for shows and corporate events.
