Roanoke Ballet Theatre Inc

Roanoke Ballet Theatre is a ballet school and professional company at 1318 Grandin Road SW in Roanoke, Virginia, led by Executive/Artistic Director Sandra Meythaler. Training begins with a thirty-minute Beginner Level 1 class for 3- and 4-year-olds and progresses through Beginner Levels 2 and 3 into the City Youth Ballet levels CYB 1 to CYB 6, which are entered by invitation or audition and build from basic technique to advanced variation and repertoire work. Pointe is taught in four graded stages from Pointe Prep through Advanced Pointe, with placement assigned by the pointe teacher, and the school also offers Progressing Ballet Technique conditioning classes, modern dance for students aged 10 and up plus a separate adult modern class, and acrobatics from Pre-Tumbling for ages 5-7 through advanced acro. An adult ballet class is open to students 15 and up, and a trainee program and community outreach programs also run. The 2026/27 season includes Dracula, The Nutcracker, a student recital and A Midsummer Night's Dream, and summer intensives are offered.
