About this studio
Planko Classical Ballet Academy is a classical ballet school in the Detroit metropolitan area of Michigan, run by Jamie Marie Planko, who promises rigorous training delivered with what she calls a gentle approach. Planko began ballet at 11 with Iacob Iascu in Bloomfield Hills, danced with Dance Detroit and appeared with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in works including The Nutcracker, and trained at summer intensives with the National Ballet of Canada, Chicago City Ballet and the School of American Ballet before receiving a full scholarship to the Kirov Ballet Academy at 14.
