Ann Arbor Ballroom

Ballroom At Its Best teaches social and competitive ballroom from 4531 Concourse Dr in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Mackenzie Hall Cultural Center in Windsor, Ontario. Group classes run in seven-week sessions at four adult levels, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and a Masters of Smooth level offered in Ann Arbor only, with no partner required as singles rotate through class; dances taught rotate each session and include Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Samba, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing and Salsa, and Windsor also runs a Ladies Only Latin class. Private one-to-one lessons cover technique, balance, frame and partner communication and are the usual route for wedding couples and competitive dancers. Wedding first-dance programs run from four or five lessons to fully choreographed routines, including father-daughter and mother-son dances. Children's group classes for ages 7-12 run in seven-week sessions, with private lessons for those pursuing competitive DanceSport. The studio is owned and taught by Claire Hansen and Richard Tonizzo, three-time Canadian Professional National Champions and former Canadian world representatives in Professional Standard. A free introductory lesson voucher is offered.
