Ann Arbor Dance Classics

Ann Arbor Dance Classics, established in 1996, is a children's dance studio at 3777 Plaza Dr. in Ann Arbor, Michigan, offering both recreational and competition programs under studio director Deena Fournier. Its stated objectives are high-quality instruction in terminology and technique, exposure to a broad range of classic dance forms, opportunities to work with different instructors and choreographers, and treating classical ballet as the foundation of other classical forms. Three tracks are offered: the Stars Program, a full-season recreational program for ages 3 to 18 running September to June and culminating in a spring recital; a Mini Session Program of six-week classes for those trying dance or a new style; and the Youth Dance Ensemble company and competition team, entered by audition, with a summer intensive and convention. Classes include creative dance, combination classes, ballet, pre-pointe and pointe by invitation, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical and contemporary, hip hop, acro, pom and occasional musical theatre. The studio states a commitment to a welcoming environment and applies its dress code in accordance with each dancer's gender identity.
