About this studio
One World Dance & Drum, led by Sarah Lee Parker and Baba Kauna Mujamal, teaches the traditional music and dance of Guinea, West Africa, and has been doing so for nearly three decades. Sarah Lee teaches a variety of traditional Guinean dances in ongoing classes and workshops, with an emphasis on both the cultural roots of the movement and the physical workout it provides. Beyond regular classes the organization runs retreats, its miniGUINEA program and cultural travel to coastal and inland Guinea, provides custom African culture programs for schools and educators, and performs at weddings, benefits and other events. It works alongside a sister non-profit, Guinea Exchange, which supports and gives back to communities in Guinea.
