About this studio
Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, known as the Trocks, is a New York City-based nonprofit ballet company founded in 1974 and now in its fifth decade. The all-male troupe performs classical and romantic repertoire en pointe under invented ballerina personas, parodying the conventions of the form while dancing it seriously; the repertoire includes Swan Lake Act II, Les Sylphides, Pas de Quatre, Grand Pas Classique and Napoli. The company tours internationally, with 2026 dates in Portugal and an annual New York season at The Joyce Theater, and it is the subject of the documentary Ballerina Boys and the children's book Brave New Ballet.
