Lasley Centre For The Performing Arts

The Lasley Center for the Performing Arts opened at Vint Hill in June 2011 to serve Fauquier and neighbouring Virginia counties, and now teaches from a purpose-built 9,000 square foot facility at 7112 Farm Station Road in Warrenton, with additional classes offered in Middleburg. The school trains both recreational and pre-professional students, describing a focus on the whole child; classes for the youngest dancers are developmentally appropriate and taught by certified instructors, several of whom hold American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum certification. Subjects include ballet, Progressive Ballet Technique, contemporary ballet, jazz, modern, tap, hip hop, character, partnering, acro for dance, and Pilates/stretch, with a preschool track for ages 3-5 plus summer programs, camps and intensives. Students have been accepted to summer intensives with ABT, Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet and San Francisco Ballet and have performed at the Kennedy Center. The Center presents an annual Nutcracker and a Spring Recital plus school and community outreach, offers a free trial class, and is a founding member of the Center Company and Piedmont Conservatory for the Arts.
