Dance classes in Wauconda, Illinois
Illinois Dance Conservatory (IDC) is a classical ballet school at 1251 N. Old Rand Road, Wauconda, Illinois, serving Chicago's northwest suburbs. Owner and artistic director Alyce Brinkmann has taught in the area for more than 35 years and in 2000 founded Illinois Youth Dance Theatre, a non-profit pre-professional youth ballet company that stages full-length productions such as The Nutcracker and Alyce in Wonderland. Training runs from Pre-Academy for ages 3-5 through Academy for ages 6 and up and a Pre-Professional track for ages 9 and up, with placement arranged by contacting the studio before registration. A recreational stream covers musical theatre for ages 6 and up, hip hop for ages 5-8, beginning ballet for ages 9 and up and adult ballet for ages 17 and up with no prior experience needed. IDC also runs a summer program and is a Nikolay Partner School.
Marlena Brinkmann and Justin Valentine, both freelance guest artists will be the guest artists in the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker.
