Hubbard Street Dance Chicago

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is a professional contemporary dance company nearing its 50th anniversary; Season 49 covers 2026/27, following a 48th season that opened at Steppenwolf in November 2025. It is led by Artistic Director Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, performs in Chicago and on tour, and has partnered with The Verdon Fosse Legacy on works including the Sweet Gwen Suite. Its rehearsal studio is on the fourth floor of Water Tower Place on Michigan Avenue and is not open to the public, so training is delivered through programs rather than drop-in studio classes. Education and Community work includes in-person school dance residencies, free online lessons and curriculum resources for teachers and families, the Unboxed curriculum series and a Parkinson's Project. Summer intensives run in CREATE, EXPLORE, Teen CREATE and Teen REP formats, plus Dance On!, an intensive for adult dance practitioners aged 26 and over.
