About this studio
Chen Dance Center, the home of H.T. Dance Company, operates from 70 Mulberry Street on the second floor in New York's Chinatown. The organization has three arms: the professional troupe H.T. Chen & Dancers, an intimate performance theater, and a community dance school. The school states four aims: to provide arts training in dance and music of the highest quality to the community, to enable talented children and young professionals to train through low-cost tuition and scholarships, to cultivate an aesthetic sensibility in contemporary and traditional arts alongside technical proficiency, and to encourage the development of young choreographers. Adult classes are taught by members of H.T. Chen & Dancers, and the center runs educational programming and school field trips for schools and groups.
