Felton's Debbie Academy of Dance

Debbie Felton's Academy of Dance in Livonia, Michigan runs a 34-week full season plus recital under the motto 'Dance Education that's Fun!', aiming to instil a love of dance while building poise, self-esteem and grace. The purpose-built facility has stage-sized rooms with professionally installed wood-sprung floors covered in marley, an age-appropriate room using props for fine motor skills, and a family waiting area; all faculty are trained in CPR, First Aid and AED. Classes begin with Tiny Tots for ages 18 months to 2.5 years and Creative Movement/Pre-Ballet at 3-5, then graded Ballet levels feeding into a Pre-Cecchetti class and Cecchetti Ballet grades I-VII with annual exam opportunities, plus Pre-Pointe and intermediate and advanced Pointe. Other tracks cover Hip Hop (intro through 14-and-up and adult), Jazz, Lyrical (ballet required), Musical Theatre, Al Gilbert method Tap, non-recital Tumbling and a Conditioning class for ages 10 and up. Adults have their own Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop classes, and an audition-placed Competition Dance Team is offered.
