About this studio
DanceMates Educational Arts, NFP is a Chicago-area not-for-profit social dance organization teaching Latin and American-style partner dancing from beginning through advanced levels. Its stated approach is to teach what students want to learn, and the published range covers salsa, merengue, cumbia, cha-cha, bachata, lambada, samba, East Coast swing, jitterbug, polka, Texas two-step, American style rumba, waltz, tango and foxtrot, plus assorted ethnic dances and tropical line dances. Alongside its class schedule and workshops the organization runs social dance parties, publishes guidance on dancing etiquette and club tips, and has produced its own television show. It is available for hire at fundraising events and office parties, and accepts tax-deductible sponsorship and donations.
