Central Virginia Dance Academy

Central Virginia Dance Academy (CVDA) was founded in 2008 by owner Anne Wash and now teaches from 2812 E Parham Road in Henrico, on the edge of Richmond, Virginia. The school trains dancers in both ballet and commercial styles at every level, from serious students to recreational ones, and organizes its work into a Children's Division, Open Division, Comprehensive Division, Pre-Professional Division, an Adaptive Dance program, adult classes and private lessons. Its stated mission is that there is a place for every dancer, with values of kindness, drive, growth, technical excellence and a dance family that embraces diversity. The youngest students begin at ages 2-3 in Creative Dance, where a parent or guardian may take part in the class, and progress through Creative Movement, ballet/tap combination classes and mini-level jazz, acro, hip hop and Broadway classes. Company tracks add competition and performance work, and every class performs a routine in the annual Showcase alongside productions of The Nutcracker and a spring ballet.
