The Butterfly Effect: Into the Jazz VORTEX at The VORTEX

This March, the East Side’s iconic The Butterfly Bar @ The VORTEX becomes the epicenter of jazz and engagement. ATX Artists for Social Impact, in collaboration with The VORTEX, is proud to present "The Butterfly Effect: Into the Jazz VORTEX," a high-energy big band showcase and community gathering.

The event features the ATX Jazz Orchestra performing the timeless, hard-swinging repertoire of Count Basie. In the spirit of "The Butterfly Effect"—where small actions create significant change—the event serves as both a musical celebration and a way to contribute to local artists. The Butterfly Bar is featuring the Harmony Tonic cocktail for the month of March. $1 from every featured cocktail sold will benefit HAAM, providing access to healthcare for local Austin musicians. During the event, we will double our contribution to $2 per Harmony Tonic sold.

The afternoon begins at 2:00 PM with an intimate opening set by the soulful Sofia Villarreal, followed at 3:00 PM by the full power of the ATX Jazz Orchestra. Attendees can expect to cut a rug, savor craft cocktails from The Butterfly Bar, and enjoy an atmosphere dedicated to Austin’s vibrant arts-for-change movement.
