Second Thought Theatre continues its ninth season with My Name is Rachel Corrie, a play based on the diaries and emails of Rachel Corrie, adapted by Alan Rickman and Katherine Viner. My Name is Rachel Corrie will open on Saturday, March 16, the tenth anniversary of Corrie's death in the conflict-ravaged Gaza Strip.

Amphibian Stage Productions today announced casting for its first main stage production of the 2013 season, Fiction by Steven Dietz. Jakie Cabe, Lydia Mackay, and Cara L. Reid will star in this poignant drama, running tonight, February 21 through Sunday, March 17 at Amphibian's theater at 120 S. Main Street. Mary Catherine Burke, a New York-based director, will lead the production.

WaterTower Theatre Postpones MANICURES & MONUMENTS at Out of the Loop Fringe

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced that the staged reading of Vicki Cheatwood's Manicures & Monuments originally scheduled to be part of 2013 Out of the Loop Fringe Festival, March 7-17, 2013 at the Addison Theatre and Conference Centre will be postponed and performed at a later date to be announced. Changes in the playwright's schedule required the reading to be produced later in the spring. The reading was scheduled to be performed in the Stone Cottage on March 12 at 7:30 pm. WaterTower Theatre will announce the new date soon.

SMU Launches 'Cultural Data Project', New National Center for Arts Research

SMU announced today that its Meadows School of the Arts and Cox School of Business are leading a collaboration with the Cultural Data Project (CDP) and numerous other partners to create a National Center for Arts Research (NCAR) at SMU. The center, the first of its kind in the nation, will analyze the largest database of arts research ever assembled, investigate important issues in arts management and patronage, and make its findings available to arts leaders, funders, policymakers, researchers and the general public. The vision of NCAR is to act as a catalyst for the transformation and sustainability of the national arts and cultural community.

The Dallas Opera, in partnership with Cowboys Stadium and with support from The Dallas Foundation, is extremely proud to announce the second classical music simulcast conducted in a North Texas sports venue. The announcement was made this afternoon at a gathering of representatives of several prominent organizations and local media at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. Participants included Dallas Opera General Director and CEO Keith Cerny; Gene Jones; Charlotte Jones Anderson, Executive Vice-President Brand Management/President of Charities; Dallas Foundations President Mary Jalonick; and Nicole Small, CEO of the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.
