DISHING IT OUT Begins Today as Part of Uptown Players' 2013 Pride Festival

Due to the unexpected death of one of the actors in Our Productions Theater Company's Pageant Play, the show has been withdrawn from this year's Pride Festival. Uptown Players announces that Dishing It Out, written by and starring Paul J. Williams, will replace Pageant Play in this year's festival. The show will run today, September 7 at 4 p.m.; September 11 at 8 p.m.; and September 14 at 2 p.m.

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, has broken its own house record in Dallas, TX for the week ending September 1 at the Winspear Opera House grossing $1,511,294.00. THE BOOK OF MORMON first broke the record the week ending August 25.

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced the directors for the Company's 2013-2014 Main Stage season at the Addison Theatre Centre. Directing the season opener, Hank Williams: Lost Highway (October 11-November 3, 2013) will be Michael Serrecchia. The Game's Afoot (or Holmes for the Holidays) (December 13- January 5, 2014) will be directed by Robin Armstrong. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (January 24-February 16, 2014) will be directed by Emily Scott Banks. Spunk (April 11-May 4, 2014) will be directed by Akin Babatunde.Good People (June 6-29, 2014) will be directed by Rene Moreno and Dogfight (July 25-August 17, 2014) will be directed by Terry Martin.

Dallas Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty and Playwright-in-Residence Will Power announced today a new initiative to support and nurture local playwrights. The Dallas Playwrights' Workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to work directly with Will Power, the award-winning dramatist and Mellon Foundation Fellow at DTC to hone their craft, develop professional relationships and learn from their peers in a rigorous and supportive creative environment.

Dallas Theater Center has announced the regional premiere of Clybourne Park, running in rotating rep with A Raisin in the Sun, to launch the theater's 55th season. Clybourne Park will be directed by DTC Associate Artistic Director Joel Ferrell. WaterTower Theatre Adds New Saturday Morning Children's Class

Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced that WaterTower Theatre has added a new program to its multi-dimensional education and community outreach efforts with the addition of new Saturday Morning Theatre Classes for children. The 8-week session of classes will begin September 28 and run through November 16, 2013 every Saturday morning from 9 am to 12 noon. The classes are targeted to children in grades 1 through 6. The cost of the class is $250 per student.
