Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, in a new adaptation and staging by Yura Kordonsky, runs March 5-27 at Yale Repertory Theatre. Chekhov's masterwork explores the intersecting and clashing desires of artists, rendered here by Kordonsky, who serves as both adaptor and director. Kordonsky previously brought his approach to the material to an acclaimed 2025 adaptation and staging of Nikolai Gogol's The Inspector. This marks Yale Rep's first production of The Seagull since 1978.
