Quisqueya on the Hudson, a world premiere commission by Guadalís Del Carmen, is set in 1961 in a family's apartment in San Juan Hill—the New York City neighborhood demolished to make way for Lincoln Center. The play traces Dominican American experiences in the fraying fabric of New York life, drawing on the same Washington Heights world Del Carmen explored in her Off-Broadway debut, Bees & Honey. The production is directed by Knud Adams, known for staging the premieres of back-to-back Pulitzer Prize-winning plays.
