The Last Five Years at Soft Belly Theatre

Soft Belly Theatre is proud to debut with Jason Robert Brown’s acclaimed musical, The Last Five Years, in an intimate black box theater setting. Performances will be held from July 18-20 at 7:30 PM.

The Last Five Years tells the emotionally charged story of Jamie Wellerstein and Cathy Hiatt, a young couple whose relationship unfolds over five years. This musical presents Jamie’s story in chronological order and Cathy’s in reverse, offering an immersive exploration of love, ambition, and heartbreak.

Starring the talented Madalyn Baker and Brendan Lowry, Cleveland Playhouse CWRU MFA acting students along with Meredith Nelson who is directing the production.

Soft Belly Theatre is Cleveland's newest theatre company. Founded by Meredith and Nathan Nelson, their goal is to make local professional theatre affordable. The Soft Belly approach is about engaging in truths no matter how uncomfortable and approaching each other with a willingness to be changed while listening to another person's truth.
