Dobama Theatre presents a free reading of a new play by Playwrights' GYM member Catie O'Keefe:
264 HOURS
What happens when a group of insomniacs come together to enlighten their minds with a week worth of workshops, seminars and sleep deprived hallucinations? Nothing but sex, suicide, theft, true love, life lessons, fraud and self discovery. In 264 HOURS, young Tula seems to be the only person who is able to see through this strange and surreal world of people searching for the answer to all of life’s questions; but will it drive her to find freedom and self-actualization or will the side effects make her ultimately lose any awareness of the real world? 264 HOURS is an adventure down the rabbit hole of what happens when we try and stay awake for 11 days straight.
Monday, May 14, 2018 at 7:00PM
Admission is free, with general seating.
The reading runs 60 minutes with no intermission. There will be an audience talkback immediately following.
All beer and wine is $1 for Playwrights' GYM readings.
The Playwrights' GYM is Dobama Theatre's professional playwriting unit. GYM playwrights are given various resources to help further their work. These resources include rehearsal space, collaboration with a director to assist the playwright, marketing and public events supported by the theatre. The GYM's goal is to nurture new work in a safe environment and provide the "exercise" equipment needed to develop new plays by these Cleveland-area writers.
