Five of the 19 surviving Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook accidentally killed the other 52 residents of her convent with a foodbourne illness. Mother Superior had a dream that she was to start a greeting card company to raise money for the funerals. The company was such a success that she accidentally spent all of the money of VCR's and Camcorders for the convent, leaving her without funds to pay for the funeral. The nuns are placed on ice and the five sisters decide to stage a variety show to raise the amount necessary.

Playhouse South to Present THE WEDDING SINGER

Remember the totally awesome days of neon and spandex? They're Here! Playhouse South is going full on 1980's with their production of THE WEDDING SINGER, based on the popular 1998 film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The show takes place in 1986 and follows Robbie Hart, New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. When his fiancee leaves him at the altar, he discovers that he cannot stand to be around weddings and lashes out at every happy couple for whom he sings. Heartbroken, he is forced to reexamine the meaning of love and marriage before he destroys every wedding in New Jersey. With the help of Julia, a local catering waitress, Robbie embarks on a hilarious journey of identity, romance, and Bar Mitzvahs.

The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA (CWRU/CPH MFA) Acting Program will present The Three Sisters in the Helen Rosenfeld Lewis Bialosky Lab Theatre ("The Helen") at PlayhouseSquare for 10 performances only, November 12-22, 2014. Written by Anton Chekhov and directed by CWRU/CPH MFA Program Director Ron Wilson, this landmark piece of theatre opens the second season for the MFA Class of 2016.
Cleveland Play House to Induct 2014 Honorees at Hall of Fame Ceremony Next Month

Cleveland Play House (CPH) will host their 18th Hall of Fame Luncheon on Thursday, November 6th in downtown Cleveland. The 2014 honorees have impacted the success of CPH through their wide-ranging achievements. This year's recipients include Joe Garry, George Gund II, Maeve McGuire, and June Squibb. Receiving the Heritage Award for his contributions to CPH will be Nelson Isekeit. Honorary Co-Chairs for the event are long-time CPH supporters Bob Blattner and Betty Fredman.

One hour prior to the afternoon performances on Nov. 15 and 22 there will be a backstage tour, free to any student, providing insight into the cast and crew and stage design and operation of "The Wizard of Oz" at OPAC.

C. Denby Swanson's 'The Norwegians,' now on stage at Dobama Theatre, centers on Tor and Gus, two Minnesota Norwegians, who are hit men who offer to 'whack' individuals who have 'done others wrong.' Olive, a former Texan, has been mistreated by her boyfriend. She meets Betty, who has hired Tor and Gus in the past to rid her of an ex- boyfriend. She is out to 'do in' another guy, but, for reasons which roll out later in the story, she doesn't hire Tor and Gus to do the job. Betty shares the Norwegian Mafia's information with Olive, who hires them, and the tale is off and running.
