The Bridges of Madison County is based on the best-selling novel, and developed by the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning creative team of Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, Parade and Songs for a New World) and Marsha Norman (The Secret Garden, 'Night Mother and The Color Purple) who went on to win the Tony Award for Best Score and Orchestrations in 2014 for this stunning romance.

Set in Pittsburgh in the late 1990's, it's the story of a successful entrepreneur who aspires to become the city's first black mayor. But when the past begins to catch up with him, secrets get revealed that could be his undoing.

Say the name "Joshua Seth" and many Kent, OH residents will tell you that he is the hometown boy who made good in the entertainment world, while adult fans of animation will say Joshua is best known as the villainous voice of Tetsuo, the starring role in the animated masterpiece, Akira (2001). (He also voiced the evil Young Knives in Trigun and the heroic Elk in Arc the Lad.) Playhouse Square theatergoers, however, will tell you that Joshua Seth is the amazing psychological illusionist who has entertained them the past few years with his one-man show "Beyond Belief".

Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland's Classic Company, commences the second half its 2017-18 season with Frederick Knott's classic thriller, Wait Until Dark. The production will be performed in the company's intimate and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, Playhouse Square, February 17 - March 12, 2017. Joseph Hanreddy directs the production. Wait Until Dark is presented through special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.

All three are perceived as tales for children, but, in reality, though they are intended to teach youngsters, the messages are often so complex that they go over the heads of their intended audience.

On January 15 at 7:00 p.m., The Cleveland Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Wilkins, performed its 37th annual concert in celebration of the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. The sold out concert featured the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Chorus prepared by William Henry Caldwell, and Sphinx Competition winner Thomas Mesa as cello soloist. The concert is being broadcast live on radio stations WCLV (104.9 FM) and WCPN (90.3 FM).
