Michael Estanich newest premiere, “In C, a vigorous study of time” is an abstract examination of time inspired by the great American minimalist composer Terry Riley’s masterful 1964 composition “In C”. Estanich and the ensemble of nine dancers are in active conversation with Riley’s score creating dynamic patterns that careen through space. The pulsing score also supports uniquely designed solo moments for each dancer and exciting partnering sequences that invite the audience to recognize the awesome power of the moving body.

In “In C, a vigorous study of time,” the dancers weave between, around, over, under, above and below each other revealing a community that tenderly relies on trust, abandon, patience, and connection. With a lighting design by Charlotte Rath, RE|dance group ensemble members bring stamina and commitment to their Evanston debut at Studio5. Come watch as they explore how time is the one constant that informs and affects all lives.
