Playwright Heidi Schreck’s boundary-breaking play breathes new life into our Constitution and imagines how it will shape the next generation of Americans. Fifteen-year-oldHeidi earned her college tuition by winning Constitutional debate competitions across the United States. In this hilarious, hopeful and achingly human new play, she resurrects her teenage self in order to trace the profound relationship between four generations of women and the founding document that shaped their lives.

We're proud to present this production alongside our community partners:

League of Women Voters of Chicago The Network: Advocating Against Domestic Violence Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights

A portion of all ticket sales will go to our community partners, who engage with these themes and topics directly every day. We thank them for their advocacy throughout the city of Chicago.

A note for audiences: the play includes discussion of domestic violence, sexual assault of a minor, and abortion. It runs about 90 minutes with no intermission and is recommended for ages 12 and up.

WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. concordtheatricals.com
