“Together: Dave and Dan Duet”- A Gay Holiday Cabaret with Sing-along at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Experience the joy and spirit of the season at “Together: Dave and Dan Duet,” a heartwarming Gay-Themed Holiday Cabaret that promises laughter, love, and an unforgettable musical journey! 

About the Show: Step into a world of love and resilience as we follow the remarkable journey of David Stephens and Daniel Johnson, two entertainers who found each other amidst the bustling backdrop of the 1996 Gay Pride Festival in NYC. From their long-distance romance, defying the odds against societal challenges, to creating a beautiful life together in Oak Park, their story is a celebration of love against all odds. With humor and heartfelt storytelling, David and Daniel will take you through their lives as out Gay men in an uncommon interracial relationship, captivating the audience with story and song. This cabaret features an eclectic mix of tunes from musical legends like Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter, Cy Coleman, and even Rick Astley—there’s something for everyone! 

Meet the Artists: David and Daniel are proud members of the Chicago Cabaret Professionals and actively contribute to the vibrant arts scene by performing with the Chicago-based collective Working In Concert, where David served as co-creator and former Managing Director of Black Voices in Cabaret. With a history of producing and directing numerous successful shows, they are thrilled to present this unique cabaret experience, featuring the talented pianist and musical director Mark Burnell, well-known for his engaging jazz and gospel performances throughout the area.

Join Us: Gather your friends and family for a joyous evening filled with music, camaraderie, and celebration of love. Doors open at 6:30 PM on December 18th, and the show begins at 7:00 PM. Admission is free! While donations are graciously accepted to support local artists, your presence is the greatest gift of all.
