The Harbingers: an unaccompanied opera in one act On a quiet Halloween night, several spirits of death convene in a cemetery to debate over the fate of the soul of a recently departed doctor. Is she an angel of mercy, or are there more sinister reasons for her actions when she was alive? Rossa Crean and Kendra Leonard’s beautiful and evocative unaccompanied opera “The Harbingers” reflects on the concepts of good and evil, and what that means for us in the afterlife. Approximate runtime: 70 minutes This piece is presented as an independent work produced and shared by members of the Chicago operatic community. Please note: The Horatio N May Chapel was built in 1899 and is not wheelchair accessible.
