Romeo y Julieta is a bilingual English and Spanish adaptation of Romeo and Juliet by Karen Zacarías and Henry Godinez, directed by Godinez. Shakespeare's story of star-crossed lovers is transported to Miami in the early 1960s, where Cuban exiles navigate conflict between the Montescos and the Capuletas amid dreams of returning to their homeland. The 90-minute production is performed in both English and Spanish with projected translation. Godinez, a co-founder of Teatro Vista and Sabl Resident Director at Goodman Theatre, returns to CST where he first appeared in 1989.
