Written by Samantha Hurley and directed by Tyler Struble, this Chicago premiere is a Y2K farce about eighth-grader Shelby Hinkley, president of the Tobey Maguire Fan Club, who decides to kidnap the famous actor and marry him in her basement. Her fantasies of happily ever after crumble as she realizes Tobey may not be the heartthrob she imagined, while Tobey does everything he can to escape his number one fan. The cast includes Alex O'Shea as Shelby Hinkley, Jasper Johnson as Tobey Maguire, and Lucy Stoole in multiple roles. The play is a full-throttle exploration of para-social relationships and the obsessions that detonate them.
