Deeply Rooted Dance Theater returns to The Auditorium on May 30th for the culminating performance of its 30th anniversary season, a celebration of love, joy, and resistance from Chicago's premier Black dance company. The program will feature world premieres of new works choreographed by company founders Kevin Iega Jeff and Gary Abbott. Founded in 1996, Deeply Rooted has spent three decades bringing the work of renowned choreographers to stages in Chicago and beyond, drawing on the traditions of modern, ballet, and African dance. The company is also looking toward its next chapter with construction planned on the Deeply Rooted Center for Black Dance and Creative Communities on Chicago's South Side.
