The 13th Annual Chicago Dance Month opens with a free public kickoff celebration spanning genres and cultural traditions. Performing companies include Ballet Folklórico de Chicago, Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre, Chicago Korean Dance Company, Hyde Park School of Dance, JYZ Dance, Kelsi Fears Choreography, M.A.D.D. Rhythms, and Partners in the Circle. The event runs from 3 to 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
