Silverstage Theatre Company is proud to present Harold Pinter’s BETRAYAL. This psychological drama runs February 13th through 21st, with a special performance just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Performing at the historic Starline Factory in Harvard, IL, BETRAYAL tells the story of a 1970s marital affair in England, set over the course of seven years. Three actors (Stephen Pickering, Marisa Snook, and Max Saunders) bring monumental performances to Silverstage, capturing the tension, cheekiness, and witty irreverence of these iconic characters, inspired divisively by Pinter’s own experiences in a seven-year long affair.
Pinter’s groundbreaking structure presents the events of the story in a non-linear fashion. Beginning the play at the end of the seven-year affair, we watch love in all of its messy stages.
Content warning: While all ages are welcome, some brief strong language and thematic material covering topics of marital discourse and infidelity may be mature for younger audiences. Parental discretion advised.
Directed by Jake Heelein, and stage managed / produced by Hunter Johnson, BETRAYAL will run Fridays, February 13th and 20th at 7:00pm, and Saturday, February 21st at 3:00pm, with a special Valentines Day performance on Saturday, February 14th at 7:00pm.
