Hobo Junction Presents THE HOBO ROBO NEW COMEDY FESTIVAL 2: THE FESTIVAL
By: Gabrielle Sierra Aug. 17, 2010
Hobo Junction has noticed that things are looking a little grim this holiday season: Oil crisis, Recession, iPhone 4 is just "OK" etc., so we put our heads together and decided...we'll do something we've done before. But more of it and spice it up.
THE HOBO ROBO FESTIVAL pits playwright against playwright, in a battle royal for a grand cash prize. Last time, our writers paid a $10 entry fee and attempted to win it back, but this time, since times are tough, the playwrights have entered FOR FREE and the pay-off is even better.Instead of readings that the audience gets to vote on, we're doing fully staged versions of each of the entries to create a night of seven works of comedy for the folks at home to relax to and get away from the hard times.Playwrights from all over the country have entered and only seven will make it on stage. Seven directors have been picked to handle each of the productions, casting from a pool of prime Chicago talent.Take the Red Line to Sheridan and walk east to Broadway St.WHEN: November 1st, 2nd and 3rd @ 7:00pm THREE NIGHTS ONLY!
TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR
