The Hammerstein International Youth Solo Contest is a global competition for singers aged 6-18 that honors the impactful lyrics of Oscar Hammerstein II. Taking place on October 19, 2025, at the Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center, the event has drawn nearly 700 performers from around the world in its first four years. Participants will compete in various categories, with winners receiving cash prizes, a voice lesson with a Broadway teaching artist, and the chance to perform at the museum gala. This initiative aims to educate young musical theater enthusiasts about Hammerstein's contributions to Broadway and support the establishment of a dedicated museum and educational center at his historic home in Doylestown, PA.
