Choir Boy is a coming-of-age play that centers on a talented student at a prestigious all-boys prep school, as he navigates his identity as a young Black gay man. Set against the backdrop of the school’s choir, the story explores themes of self-acceptance, brotherhood, and the challenges of living authentically in the face of societal and familial expectations, and captures the struggles and triumphs of youth in search of their place in the world. Tickets for this staged reading will be entirely pay-what-you-can!
