The Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County and The Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center (Highland Farm) announce the Art of Oscar, a unique celebration and competition which will serve asa fundraiser for the participating non-profit organizations, community artists and participating event artists.  Visual Artists of all mediums are invited to create works inspired by Hammerstein's life, music, humanitarian service, and his home and submit them for awards, exhibition, and public sale at Highland Farm this May.  Artist registration before or on April 1stat www.bucksarts.org

The Players Club of Swarthmore presents Six Degrees of Separation, one of the greatest American plays of our time, written by John Guare (The House of Blue Leaves, Landscape of the Body, A Free Man of Color). Six Degrees of Separation examines the threads of chance that link one person to another, in this splendidly funny, often disquieting, exploration of the way human beings define themselves and classify each other. Winner of the 1993 Olivier Award for Best Play and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award. Six Degrees of Separation is directed by Michael Steven Schultz. CVSM Plans Annual Performathon Fundraiser On March 16

The Cumberland Valley School of Music will present its annual Performathon on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 9am 4 pm. Performathon is an all-school event featuring over one hundred students, along with faculty members, performing in a continuous stream of recitals from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to the free event being held in the Thomson Alumnae Chapel on the Wilson College campus in Chambersburg, PA. Everyone is invited to attend at any time throughout the event, and may stay as long as desired.

This wonderful story written in 1844 by Hans Christian Anderson is, in fact, his longest and most highly acclaimed story. Since 1913 it has been retold in operas, film, plays, musicals, dance productions, comic books, video games, and on television. It is even believed to be the basis for Disney's Frozen, which the studio began work on in 1943. It opened in 2013!
Gretna Theatre Celebrates Black History Month With An Educational Show On Diversity

Gretna Theatre will be putting on a special performance of Tom Quinn's No Easy Road To Freedom: A Lesson In American Diversity at the Lebanon County Historical Society on February 26. The one-hour educational show tackles the subject of American diversity throughout history using poetry, drama, and song. Some of the events that are covered in the play include women's rights, the Holocaust, the civil rights movement, and the election of the country's first African American president. Lancaster Native Johnathan S. Perkins will join the conversation on today to moderate a post-show discussion. Johnathan is a young speaker and higher education attorney who focuses on diversity and inclusion.
