A classic comedy is coming to Ephrata Performing Arts Center, September 5-14, 2019, THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart.

It's the Middle Class versus the Elites in Kaufman and Hart's uproarious comedy THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER. An instant hit when it opened on Broadway in 1939, the play has gone on to be one of the most performed American comedies. A popular film version was released in 1942 starring Bette Davis. THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, as it is so aptly named, is a comedy play about a dinner guest who long overstays his welcome. Although he originally was forced into bed-rest due to injury, he soon makes himself at home and begins meddling in his hosts' personal lives. Christmastime is a time for giving freely, and Mr. Sheridan Whiteside is freely giving his opinion and insults to the Stanley family, who are stuck with him.

As previously announced, the production will star EPAC Artistic Director Edward Fernandez in the role of Sheridan Whiteside, respectively.

Joining Fernandez, are this year's BroadwayWorld Award Winners for Best Actress and Best Actor In A Play, Kristie Ohlinger and Jordon Ross Weinhold, playing the roles of Maggie Cutler and Banjo, respectively. Ohlinger won for playing Margory in EPAC's production of HAND TO GOD and Weinhold won for playing Black Stache in EPAC's production of PETER AND THE STARCATCHER.

"I'm really excited to get back on the boards at Ephrata!" says Ohlinger. "EPAC's 'The Man Who Came to Dinner' should prove to be fun for all involved. I'm excited to work with such a great cast and directing team."

"It's a joy to be on the same stage with this wonderful ensemble of actors," says Weinhold. "I think audiences are in for a treat with this classic American comedy."

This is Ohlinger's 19th Season at Ephrata Performing Arts Center. Previous EPAC credits include HAND TO GOD (Margery) GREY GARDENS (Big and Little Edie), A Streetcar Named Desire (Blanche), CHICAGO (Roxie), ANNIE (Miss Hannigan), and ANGELS IN AMERICA (Angel). Ohlinger has performed with Dave Stahl, Hershey Symphony and is the female vocalist or the Hershey Dance Band.

Weinhold's previous EPAC credits include PETER AND THE STARCATCHER (Black Stache), HAIRSPRAY (Corny Collins), SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET (Pirelli). Regional credits include THE OLD CURIOSITY SHOP, THE PRODUCERS, SHEAR MADNESS, THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL, GREAT EXPECTATIONS, LADY WINDERMERE'S FAN and Fulton Theatre's productions of THE FULL MONTY and TREASURE ISLAND.

THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER runs September 5-14, 2019, at Ephrata Performing Arts Center. For tickets and more information, visit www.ephrataperformingartscenter.com or call EPAC's box office at (717) 733-7966 x 1.
