Gettysburg Community Theatre Hosts Free After School Program For Kids

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, will be starting a FREE After School Program at GCT for students in 1st-8th Grades. The program will begin September 5th and if enough students sign up, the program will be held Mondays through Thursdays between the hours of 2:30-6pm. Email Chad@GettysburgCommunityTheatre.org for the application to sign up for this FREE program.

York Symphony Orchestra to Present First Concert of the 2016-2017 Season

 The York Symphony Orchestra will present, "The Music of John Williams: 85th Birthday Celebration" onSaturday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York. The performance will feature popular movie soundtracks in celebration of legendary film composer John Williams' 85th birthday. This Pops Series concert will kick off the orchestra's 2016-2017 season, A Musical Journey Through Time.
Fulton Theatre Promotes Artistic Director

The Fulton Theatre continues to experience unprecedented growth. Under the leadership and guidance of Artistic Director Marc Robin and Managing Director Aaron Young, the theatre's audience has increased from 60,000 to well over 130,000 and box office revenue has increased by 300%. The future is brighter than ever for the Lancaster and National treasure, as the Fulton makes plans for future expansion. Part of the expansion includes a reorganization of the Fulton administrative structure, redefining responsibilities throughout the organization. The role of Managing Director has been eliminated and will be replaced by a more focused financial position. The Fulton's Artistic Director, Marc Robin, has been promoted to Executive Artistic Producer and will lead the Fulton through its next phase of growth.

After successful runs in London and Chicago, Glengarry Glen Ross moved to Broadway in 1984 and to the silver screen in the 1992 film of the same name starring Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, and Kevin Spacey. The combined stage and film versions of Glengarry Glen Ross won the Pulitzer Prize, a Tony award, and several Academy Award nominations.
