The Belmont Theatre will present the family classic musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - LIVE on the mainstage November 18-20 & 25-27. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday shows are at 3:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to bring visiting family members and friends to see a family classic over the Thanksgiving holiday! A matinee was just added on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2pm!

Audiences will take a fantastic musical adventure with an out-of-this-world car that flies through the air and sails the seas. Based on the beloved 1968 film version of Ian Fleming's children's book, and featuring an unforgettable score by The Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is one family-friendly blockbuster that audiences will find "Truly Scrumptious." An eccentric inventor, Caractacus Potts sets about restoring an old race car from a scrap heap with the help of his children, Jeremy and Jemima. They soon discover the car has magical properties, including the ability to float and take flight. Trouble occurs when the evil Baron Bomburst desires the magic car for himself. The family joins forces with Truly Scrumptious and batty Grandpa Potts to outwit the dastardly Baron and Baroness and their villainous henchman, the Child Catcher. Filled with amazing special effects and unforgettable songs, including the Academy Award-nominated title song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a high-flying, fun-filled adventure for the entire family!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is directed by The Belmont Theatre's Artistic Director Rene Staub. Vocal Direction is by Jacquie Sutton and Choreography is by Donna Lynch. The cast features Brian Gilbert as Caractacus Potts, Maddy Kunkowski as Truly Scrumptious, Seth Erdley and Payton Lutz as the Potts children Jeremy & Jemima, Bill Jones as Grandpa Potts, Mark Hargreaves and Kendra Keiser as the Baron & Baroness Bomburst and Jeff Gilbert as the Childcatcher . There are numerous other cast members to round out the cast of over 50. The cast also includes seven dogs that make appearances throughout the show.

Patrons are urged to not wait to purchase tickets. Some of the past productions have sold out before they opened!
