In 2026, Chavs are making a comeback, and we are ecstatic to begin this resurgence with Two Birds and A Bag of Bones, a one-act play centering two chavettes from Manchester, Wigberta and Lucinda. The clock strikes midnight, and Wigberta turns 30 years old, and is promptly cut off by her wealthy mummy. The birds must now figure out a way to make rent before they’re evicted, innit? Lucinda thinks she has a plan: what about taking advantage of the old bloke she met at the pub? That should work, ya? Not so fast: once they begin to find their footing, chaos ensues when a Bobby named Bobby enters the stage, with more unwanted guests right on his tail.
Two Birds and A Bag of Bones is a farcical whirlwind: at one moment, the chavettes might be warding off unwanted proposals and doing a Scottish Jig in the next. Filled with laughter, tears, outrage, and insanity, you can be sure that this little play packs a lot of punch. Furthermore, Two Birds and A Bag of Bones is a proof of concept for a feature film-length project: come to the show so you can boast that you “knew them when!”
Two Birds and A Bag of Bones is written by Alexandra Bianco and is being co-directed by Makena Reynolds and Cluanie Swanwick, starring Makena Reynolds, Liz Coin, Mark Young, Santos Aguilar, Louie Viscone, Analyse Capodiffero, Moureen Karim, and Alexandra Bianco.
