CP2 Reader Theatre "Dead MAn's Cell Phone" at County Players Falls Theatre

County Players, one of the longest running community theatre companies in the area will present the CP2 Readers Theatre Mini-Festival Series from October 2 to 4 at County Players Falls Theatre located at 2681 W. Main, Wappingers Falls, NY.

Reading #1- “Birds of North America” by Anna Ouyang Moench, an intimate and thrilling father and daughter drama directed by Jeffrey Battersby will be presented Friday, October 2 at 8pm, and Saturday October 3 at 2pm. John and his daughter Caitlyn are birders. As they scan the skies over their backyard in suburban Maryland looking for elusive birds, years go by. Relationships begin and end. Children grow up and parents age. This lyrical and endearing family portrait unfolds in delicate, detailed layers like the scattered leaves of each passing year. This talented cast features Hailey Pinkington and Josh Way.

Reading #2- "Dead Man’s Cell Phone" by Sarah Ruhl, a beguiling and surrealist comedy directed by Kit Colbourn will be presented Saturday, October 3 at 8pm, and Sunday, October 4 at 2pm. A comedy about how we remember the dead – and how that memorialization changes us. It is the journey of a woman forced to confront her presumptions about isolation in a technological society. Everything we thought we knew, everything we thought was dead, can be uncovered, re-discovered, and brought to life again. The reading features local actors Susan Bond, Karen Dalmer-Sheehy, Matthew DeHond, Ana Hein, Wendy Urban-Meade, and Erica Woolley.

CP2 Readers Theatre is an exciting series at County Players which offers an opportunity for actors, directors, and audience members to experience theater in a fresh way: selected plays with full dramatic readings, no costumes, no sets, no props, and the actors perform with scripts in hand. These shows are an incredible opportunity to experience great theater stripped to its essence: the playwright’s words.
